Submit yer own additions

This project started out as my own collection of words and phrases unique to Michigan, but as you can see, lots of folks from all over have contributed as well. If you're interested in submitting an addition to the Guide, I'm happy to include submissions, but with the following caveats:

  • PuhLEASE, PEOPLE, READ THE FREAKIN' GUIDE FIRST! You'd be amazed at how many people submit words that are already included. Chances are it's already listed, sometimes not in alphabetical order but under a related word or words.

  • SHOULD BE UNIQUE TO MICHIGAN. Generally speaking, a suggestion should be "largely" unique to Michigan. For example, outstaters referencing Detroit as "The City" should realize that New York City owned that years ago.

  • I DO THIS FOR FUN. It's not meant to be anything official, just my take on our silly accent. If I disagree with a suggestion, don't take it personally.

  • Finally, I HAVE A DAY JOB, which means I'm unable to respond to emails. Sometimes I can.
